Anaesthesia &
Intensive Care Medicine

The Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at Tauernklinikum ensures safe, pain-free and individually tailored care during surgical procedures. Modern anaesthesia techniques ensure that patients are optimally prepared for surgery and enjoy the highest level of safety and comfort during the procedure – both adults and children. For children, anaesthesia care is only possible from the age of 3, and intensive care only from around the age of 15, depending on individual circumstances.

Another focus is on intensive care for people with life-threatening illnesses, after serious accidents or after complex operations. In specially equipped intensive care units, our team provides you with the highest level of medical care around the clock.

In addition, the department specialises in modern pain therapy – in the acute phase after surgical procedures and also for certain chronic pain conditions. Special attention is also paid to emergency medicine: the experienced team is on call as part of the emergency medical service to provide rapid diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening emergencies.
