Medical training

During the nine-month foundation year, we will teach you the basic skills required for medical work. The training programme begins with an introductory day, during which we familiarise you with the procedures in the hospital and the digital systems. In the first few weeks, you will receive training in resuscitation and be introduced to the individual department heads and all employees in key positions. At

Tauernkliniken, the foundation year is usually divided into three sections, each lasting approximately three months:

  • Internal medicine
  • Trauma surgery
  • Other surgical disciplines (general surgery, ENT, urology, gynaecology)

If you have any individual preferences, please let us know – depending on which places are available, we will be happy to take your wishes into account. As patient care plays a very important role in our hospital, you will spend a large part of your training in the outpatient clinics or on ward rounds – in other words, with the patients. Of course, you will always have someone at your side to answer your questions.
