With its two locations in Zell am See and Mittersill, the Tauernklinikum is the medical centre for the entire Pinzgau region.

• Outpatients: around 166,000 treatments per year
• Inpatient admissions: approximately 22,000 cases per year
• Bed capacity: Zell am See – 248 beds, Mittersill – 90 beds
• Employees: around 1,100, including more than 950 specialists
• Operations: several thousand procedures per year in the fields of surgery, orthopaedics, trauma surgery, gynaecology and urology
• Helicopter landings: on average around 10 per day at the Zell am See site – especially for emergency and trauma care

The acute outpatient clinics at both locations are open around the clock, seven days a week, and guarantee comprehensive medical care. Numerous specialist outpatient clinics – from orthopaedics and internal medicine to ophthalmology, urology and gynaecology to specialised consultation hours such as long COVID, pelvic floor or autoimmune outpatient clinics – complement the range of services.

The province of Salzburg is continuously investing in the expansion and modernisation of regional healthcare:

• 13 million euros were recently invested in modernising the Zell am See site.
• 51 million euros are being invested in the expansion and renovation of the Mittersill site.
• The total investment package for Pinzgau amounts to around €63 million.

These investments ensure modern infrastructure, short distances and high-quality care for the population of the entire region.
