About the person
Prim. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Stephan Hruby, F.E.B.U., is an internationally recognised urologist and expert in minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery. Since 2019, he has independently performed more than 1,100 robot-assisted prostate and kidney surgeries. Since 2017, he has headed the Department of Urology with a certified prostate centre at the Tauernklinikum Zell am See hospital. Prior to that, he held various management positions at the University Clinic for Urology in Salzburg for many years.
He is a member of the board and head of the training commission of the Austrian Society of Urology, proctor for robot-assisted surgery, and a member of the Salzburg Provincial Medical Council. In addition to his clinical work, he is heavily involved in the training and further education of young urologists. As founder and executive board member of the Austrian School of Urology, he contributes to the structured development of specialist urology training in Austria. Dr Hruby is also the author of numerous scientific publications in international journals, focusing on minimally invasive surgery, prostate cancer diagnosis and therapy, and innovative surgical technologies.
His clinical focus includes the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, robot-assisted prostate and kidney surgery, urological tumour surgery and modern endourological procedures.
His aim is to combine medical precision with a respectful, patient-oriented approach and, together with his team, to provide reliable and individually tailored care for patients.
