Can relatives receive information about a patient’s health?

Our doctors and nursing staff are bound by a duty of confidentiality. This means that staff at the Tauernklinikum are prohibited by law from disclosing medical findings and data to third parties – this also applies to family members or close associates. The only exception is if the patient expressly gives their consent to the attending doctor. Even over the telephone, our staff may only provide information if an agreed password is given in advance. Please pass on your personal password to your trusted contact(s).

Visiting hours for relatives:
To ensure the best possible care for our patients, the hospital operates a fixed schedule for our staff. Consequently, there are specific times when you are most likely to reach doctors for detailed discussions, either in person or by telephone. Illnesses and accidents do not adhere to timetables or calendars – exceptions are therefore naturally possible in urgent cases:

  • Internal Medicine: Monday to Friday 1.30 pm – 2.30 pm
  • General and Visceral Surgery: Monday to Friday 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm Zell am
