Paediatric ENT disorders

Treatment of throat and palatine tonsils, eardrum incision (paracentesis) and other child-friendly procedures (ear pinning).

Speech and language therapy

Speech and language therapy is provided based on a physician’s referral within an inpatient setting.
Primarily in cases of suspected dysphagia (swallowing disorder), for impairments of language and speech (aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia), for impairment of voice disorders (dysphonia).
In both inpatient and outpatient settings, a FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) is performed in collaboration with an ENT specialist following a speech and language therapy assessment of swallowing function (clinical swallowing examination). During the procedure, anatomical structures are evaluated and their function is assessed with and without different food consistencies. The findings are used to diagnose swallowing disorders and to guide therapy planning.
