The Tauernklinikum hospital pharmacy ensures that patients in Zell am See and Mittersill are always optimally supplied with medicines. Behind this important task is a dedicated team of pharmacists and pharmaceutical commercial assistants who work with a high level of professional competence, experience and responsibility. Our goal is to make drug therapy safe, effective and economical in all areas of the hospital, thereby making a significant contribution to the best possible medical care.
Services & responsibilities
Our pharmacists are the main point of contact for all pharmaceutical issues at Tauernklinikum. They ensure the professional and economical supply and handling of medicines and support doctors and nursing staff in optimising drug therapy.
Their tasks include:
- Ensuring the proper and pharmacoeconomic supply of medicines for all locations
- Providing clinical and pharmaceutical support on the wards by participating in rounds
- Providing medication information and advice to medical staff
- Pharmaceutical consultation in Mittersill
- Preparation of extemporaneous and patient-specific medicines
- Optimisation of internal processes and quality assurance of workflows
- Participation in interdisciplinary working groups (QM, ABS, CIRS)
Our PKA employees ensure that all processes relating to pharmaceutical supply and logistics run smoothly. They are the organisational and economic backbone of the hospital pharmacy and make a significant contribution to pharmaceutical safety in the hospital.
Their areas of responsibility include:
- Medicine logistics, storage and dispensing
- Special and cytostatic orders
- Management of controlled substances in accordance with strict legal requirements
- Article maintenance in the SAP system
- Ward inspections and checks
- Accounting tasks in the pharmaceutical sector
- Medicine advice for hospital employees
- Preparation of prescriptions
The work of the hospital pharmacy combines pharmaceutical expertise with a sense of responsibility and team spirit. Through close and interdisciplinary cooperation within the hospital, we help to ensure that every patient receives the best possible drug therapy.
We see our task not only in supplying medicines, but also in actively contributing to quality, safety and humanity in treatment.
