Optimal standards in quality management and process optimisation at both Tauernklinikum locations
(Mittersill/Zell am See, 4 June 2025) – Following a thorough audit process at both locations, Tauernkliniken GmbH has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management. With the introduction of a new document control system and further process optimisations, the needs of stakeholders such as patients and employees can be met even better in future. The Pinzgau hospitals are thus well prepared for future challenges and high standards in the healthcare sector.
"As the largest medical institution in the region, we are aware of our responsibility to continuously identify potential for improvement in our operations and to utilise it. With this successful project and the new ISO 9001 certification, we have succeeded in significantly optimising our quality management. This means that our processes not only comply with legal standards, but also enable us to better respond to the demands of the healthcare sector and our stakeholders," emphasises Managing Director Mag. Silke Göltl MA. The Tauernkliniken project team, led by Günther Höfelsauer
MIB, began identifying the necessary quality measures back in May 2023. With the support of a consulting firm, an initial internal audit was conducted to determine the status quo. A new document management system was implemented to ensure more efficient work processes. The final audit was recently carried out by the public testing agency "TÜV Austria", which immediately confirmed the success of all measures and awarded both hospitals certification.
Medical Director Dr Michael Hofer is grateful for the professional execution of the project: "Quality standards are extremely high, especially in the medical field. Faster access to information and simpler processes and access to our data through ISO certification enable us to increase the safety and well-being of our patients and to respond more effectively to the needs of our employees.
" "The implementation of ISO 9001:2015 is an important factor in optimising quality at the Tauernkliniken. Our goal is to continuously and productively increase our performance in numerous sectors. I congratulate my project team on this great success and thank them for their excellent work in project development, support and successful implementation," says Günther Höfelsauer MIB, Head of Quality Management at Tauernklinikum.
The many positive effects of ISO 9001:2015 certification include risk minimisation, increased patient satisfaction and employee motivation, as well as increased trust among contractual partners. Mandatory continuity of improvement measures brings with it a high level of quality and, in the long term, cost reductions.
