12 graduates in nursing assistance – collaboration between three schools in Pinzgau proves effective once again
(Zell am See, 28 February 2025) – The training partnership between Tauernklinikum Zell am See, the commercial school and the agricultural college in Bruck produced 12 graduates in nursing assistant training this year. At today's certificate ceremony, the former students were awarded their skilled worker certificates in the presence of guests of honour, teachers and family in the Gothic Hall in Bruck.
"The number and quality of new skilled nursing staff emerging from our training partnership demonstrates the importance of the project and the individual schools for the Pinzgau region. It not only supports the forward-looking provision of professional healthcare in the region, but also contributes to an attractive, more flexible training model. Above all, this is intended to offer young people various opportunities to pursue a career in social professions. On behalf of Tauernkliniken, I would like to congratulate the many graduates," said Tauernklinikum Managing Director Mag. Silke Göltl, MA.
Accompanied by musical interludes, the graduation ceremony began in the morning with a welcome address to all guests by Christian Dullnigg, Director of LFS Bruck, and Elisabeth Wimmer (Head of the Department of Business and Household Management, LFS Bruck), as well as a few words from the teaching staff of the partner schools. Nursing school director Kathrin Wimmer spoke briefly about the training period and congratulated the graduates. This was followed by the presentation of certificates. Guests of honour such as Provincial Councillor Dr Josef Schwaiger and Nursing Director Martina Grießer, MsC, congratulated the new nursing staff, followed by a closing lunch.
"The students usually start their regular school system at LFS Bruck at the age of 15 and can choose the health care branch in their second year. After completing their schooling, they spend a semester training with us at the health and nursing school to ultimately qualify as nursing assistants," explains school director Kathrin Wimmer, describing the structure of the integrated training programme. "A lot of work and creative thinking goes into these versatile concepts and educational pathways – we are always striving to attract skilled nursing staff and are therefore particularly pleased about the numerous qualifications awarded this year. For us, these many successes mean that we are on the right track!"
For the Zell am See commercial school, this year's course is the last, as the school branch is being closed down. The collaboration with LFS Bruck will continue. Training as a nursing assistant opens up further opportunities. For example, further training to become a certified nursing assistant and, after completing the vocational matriculation examination, university entrance qualification examination or preparatory course, entry into the third semester of the Bachelor of Nursing degree programme, leading to an academic degree. A wide range of career paths is open to nursing students.
We congratulate all nursing assistant graduates and wish them all the best in their future careers or training.
