Zell am See school location of great importance for regional training of nursing staff

(Zell am See, 25 April 2025) – There was a festive atmosphere in Zell am See on Friday as dedicated women from Pinzgau and Pongau received their nursing assistant (PFA) diplomas. The graduates, some of whom had already begun their training at the Agricultural Technical College (LFS) in Bruck and completed their PFA training, as well as those who come from the field of long-term care, have successfully completed their training and are now sending a strong signal for the future of nursing in Pinzgau.

The training, which is offered directly at the Zell am See location, stands out for its regional roots, family-friendly structure and high quality of training. "Our participants particularly appreciate the flexibility of the full-time and part-time models, which allow them to balance family and career. We are currently training 35 students to become PFA. We already have 19 registrations for the coming school year," says director Kathrin Wimmer happily. "

The nursing school in Zell am See is an important training location for the entire Pinzgau region. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers, this regional offering is needed to inspire people to pursue a career in nursing and to provide them with sustainable training. Our motivation is to keep as many graduates as possible at the Tauernklinikum," adds Managing Director Silke Göltl.

The small group size, personalised support and teaching by experienced experts create a friendly learning atmosphere and optimal conditions for successful training. At the same time, PFA training offers a future-oriented career path with a wide range of further training and specialisation opportunities in the health and care sector.

Graduate Martina Weitgasser is enthusiastic: "In addition to all the technical skills we learn in classroom and practical lessons, we also learn to treat others with appreciation and respect. We will be able to apply all these skills to our patients in the future; they are helpful for a good learning atmosphere and important for our career start."

The graduates are now starting their professional lives with solid technical knowledge, social skills and a lot of heart – and are thus making a significant contribution to care and support in the region. A win for the Tauernklinikum – and for the Pinzgau region.
