Care for newborns secured
at Tauernklinikum hospital

Successful solution with established paediatricians
(Zell am See, 24 October 2024) – Full care for the approximately 360 newborns in Zell am See each year continues to be guaranteed. Until recently, initial examinations and care for babies were provided through a partnership with the Kardinal Schwarzenberg Clinic in Schwarzach, but in November, a partnership with four paediatricians in private practice will begin.
"Thanks to the high level of motivation and willingness to cooperate on the part of the practising paediatricians in the region, we were able to work out a good solution together very quickly, which we are very happy about. The agreement is designed in such a way that the circle of cooperation partners can be expanded at any time," explains Managing Director Silke Göltl MA.
Since 2009, there has been close cooperation with the Schwarzach Clinic, through which paediatricians regularly worked at the Tauern Clinic to examine newborns. Due to a temporary change in personnel at the Schwarzach Clinic, this support cannot currently be continued.
"We reacted immediately and entered into discussions with registered paediatricians. This new collaboration guarantees the high standard of medical care and ensures that there will continue to be no gaps in care," says Medical Director OA Dr Michael Hofer.
Primar Dr Marius Miculita, Head of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Tauern Clinic, emphasises: "For us, the well-being of mothers and babies always comes first. Thanks to the new cooperation, we can continue to rest assured that all newborns will receive comprehensive medical care after birth. We work closely with paediatricians and look forward to working together to carry out such an important task with responsibility and humanity."
Outside of regular standard examinations, the care chain remains as before: babies with abnormalities are taken to the Kardinal Schwarzenberg Clinic in Schwarzach for further examination. There are also no changes for pregnant women with high-risk pregnancies; they will continue to be referred from the Tauernklinikum to specialised clinics.
