Acute Geriatric Care & Remobilisation –
With compassion and expertise for your quality of life
Welcome to the Acute Geriatrics & Remobilisation Department at Tauernklinikum Mittersill – where you as a person are at the center of our care. We support elderly patients after acute illness, trauma or surgery on their way back to independence and an active life.

Our mission – shaping lives
In later life, physical complaints or more complex health situations can arise. This requires a team that provides more than just medical care: attention, understanding, and interdisciplinary cooperation. Our department brings together specialists from medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics and other specialist areas – always with the goal of offering you or your relatives with the best possible support.
Our guiding principle: as much assistance as necessary – as much independence as possible.
How we support you
Medical care with a holistic approach
We treat patients who have suffered cardiac events, serious internal or neurological diseases, or who have undergone orthopaedic surgery or accidents – with a focus on pain relief, stability and safety.
Care tailored to your needs
Our care concept is based on helping you to help yourself – with the clear goal of enabling you to return to your familiar surroundings or continue to live there in the best possible way. Transitional care ensures a smooth and succesful handover to ongoing care.
Physiotherapy – exercise that is enjoyable
Targeted exercise therapy helps you to improve your mobility and muscle strength. This includes gait training, fall prevention, electrotherapy and other holistic methods.
Occupational therapy – mastering everyday life
We train skills that are important for everyday life – from personal hygiene to cooking, from fine motor skills to concentration. In this way, we gradually strengthen your independence, step by step.
Dietetics – nutrition with purpose
Whether following surgery, managing metabolic disorders, or simply for your overall well-being – our nutrition experts provide personalised guidance and recommendations.

A place to arrive
The department has been designed with a welcoming atmosphere and barrier-free access – a space where you feel well cared for and where recovery can take place.
Our motto accompanies us every day: adding more life to every year.
